Post in collaboration with SKIPPY® Peanut Butter
Celebrate the 4th of July with SKIPPY® Peanut Butter. The iconic Elvis Sandwich of peanut butter, banana and bacon is taken to a whole new level of awesomeness when it's dipped in egg and fried to become the SKIPPY® Peanut Butter, Bacon and Banana French Toast Elvis Sandwich. #SKIPPY4July
Q. Are you ready to celebrate American Independence Day in the UK with the USA’s famous SKIPPY® Peanut Butter?
A. Uh-huh-huh
The King's love of a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich had become somewhat of an urban legend. Almost to the point where Elvis is as famous for apparently creating it as he is for creating Rock & Roll! How to improve upon such a culinary classic?! Firstly make sure that the Peanut Butter is SKIPPY® and secondly dip the sandwich in beaten egg before frying it so you have an Elvis Peanut Butter, Bacon and Banana French Toast Sandwich. An Independence Day snack fit for the king!
Whilst we can't travel stateside at the moment for 4th of July celebrations we can experience original American peanut butter made from sweet American peanuts. SKIPPY® Peanut Butter has a taste like no other peanut butter – creamy, smooth and addictively yummy. But the big question is are you team smooth or team crunchy? I'm crunchy all the way! SKIPPY® Peanut Butter offers both with Extra Smooth ground especially fine so it melts in the mouth or Extra Crunchy which contains large peanut pieces in a deliciously creamy mix. During lockdown UK customers have been clamouring to get their SKIPPY® Peanut Butter fix and it's been flying off the shelves. Thankfully I'd stocked up with a 1.13kg jar of extra crunchy from Costco.
What's different about SKIPPY® Peanut Butter?
- Very easy to bake and cook with due to smooth texture
- A US heritage that spans more than 80 years. In 1933 Joseph Rosenfield changed the formula for peanut butter to create SKIPPY® Peanut Butter, which was less sticky and longer-lasting and doesn’t stick to the roof of your mouth.
- Every jar includes more than 90% sweet American Peanuts. Made only with high quality peanuts sourced from the USA, the sweeter American peanuts in SKIPPY® Peanut Butter have a finer grind which just melts in the mouth. The main source of peanuts for other brands in the UK is China and Brazil
