I'm forever photographing my food when oot and aboot (better than playing with it) but don't always have the opportunity to share it as part of a blog post so here's a clear out of my memory card from some lovely doos that we've been at over the past few months. Most recent was a Masquerade Ball last weekend at The Marcliffe at Pitfodels. The Marcliffe never fails to disappoint when it comes to food and service even when the quantity of diners is in the hundreds. The menu on this occasion was more "bistro style" than their usual offerings but equally enjoyable.

Next up was a Christmas Carol Concert held at Haddo House on St Andrews Day. Both were cleverly combined with a pre-starter of haggis neeps and tatties with whisky sauce and Cocoa Ooze tartan chocolates after dinner. The catering for this event held within an impressive National Trust for Scotland property was undertaken by GH Event Catering

Finally an event that was way back in October during my hectic week of 40th Birthday celebrations. This was a Celebration Dinner held at Meldrum House Hotel for the end of the BP Devenick Project. This was my first ever visit to the hotel and I hope it won't be the last. Gorgeous venue and delicious food. The boozy hot chocolate as we left at the end of the night was the perfect finale.

Alas no more exciting invitations on the mantelpiece for now but I'll be sure to let you know if a thick white envelope drops on my doorstep. Hopefully it won't be from the tax man.
