Cookery Education for Children, Adults & Schools

Current and Past Projects include...



12 weeks of 90 minute sessions with 10 primary school children at each session. Dishes cooked included curry, spaghetti bolognaise, burgers, lasagne and pizza and we also baked chocolate cake, gingerdead men, rocky road, pancakes, flapjacks and more.



Heat & Eat Project with SCARF
In conjunction with SCARF (Save Cash and Reduce Fuel) I ran the Eat part of a pilot "Heat and Eat" Workshop held within the Williamson Family Resource Centre. The participants cooked up a fantastic lunch for 8 people of Mince, Tatties and Doughballs. 97p per head spent on ingredients. 


Silver Darlings Fish Cookery for 65+ at STAR Flat Seaton
Two year project funded by the Aberdeen Change Fund with the aim of providing engagement opportunities, boosting confidence and independence and developing budgeting and cookery skills. 90 minute weekly cookery classes for age 65+ with a focus on fish. Held in a small domestic kitchen, max of 4 people in the class with a weekly ingredient budget of £10.


Quality Meat Scotland Education Sessions & Cookery Demonstrations 
Interactive primary school demonstrations where pupils are given an insight into the importance of eating a balanced diet including protein and iron-rich foods such as red meat.

Love Food Hate Waste Demos for Aberdeen Forward
Public demonstrations held in Aberdeen and Stonehaven encouraging the use of leftovers to create delicious meals and sharing ways in which to reduce food waste.


A term of cookery sessions in my local primary school tying in with the project that each class was studying. Examples of what we made include - "Victorian" Rhubarb Crumble and Jam Tarts, Exotic "Rainforrest" Smoothies, "Fishing" Salmon Fishcakes & Seafood Pasta, "Totally Tatties" Tattie Scones & Potato Wedges, "Carribbean" Jerk Chicken & Rice & Peas.
